Faculty and students at Syracuse University are taking part in the creation of the Harriet Tubman National Park, the first national park to recognize an African American woman. For more than a decade, Anthropology Professor Douglas Armstrong and his students have worked with the Harriet Tubman Home Inc. in Auburn, N.Y. to study the archeology and history of Tubman’s residence, farm and the Home for the Aged.
