Faerie Hill Farm Stewardship When visiting, walking around, and connecting with what we are doing here on Faerie Hill, please remain on the mowed paths/areas to avoid upsetting the balance of the surrounding flora and fauna. Faerie Hill Farm is home for many species so we ask you to please be very careful to not disturb their sacred abode. There are birds nesting in the fields, box turtles, frogs, toads, a host of insect life (bees, spiders, lightning bugs, butterflies to name a few), an array of delicate and beautiful wildflowers, many small trees and berry bushes, fungi, mushrooms, and more life than a human could count. Just because we can’t see it doesn’t mean it doesn’t live here! Yes, there is a definite spiritual presence on and within Faerie Hill and it is fully incarnate in the living forms all around us. Stick to the mowed and marked paths and you will be just fine. Be respectful. Make no campfires outside of the fire rings provided and only with the direct permission (each time) of the FHF stewards. Fire, wood burning, and Faerie do not always get along and, in drought conditions, the danger runs high of igniting underbrush and quickly destroying habitat. If permission is granted to kindle a fire in a designated fire ring, the fire must be small and efficient. Small amounts of dead and downed wood may be gathered from the woods. Avoid cutting live trees. Bonfires are not welcome. Takes your trash and recyclables home with you. Organic garbage, plant clippings, and pulled weeds should be put in the composter. When using the composter as a privie, always cover your waste with a light layer of sawdust, chopped straw, or other covering material provided. Toilet paper is okay but do not throw tampons or non-organic objects into the compost. The finished compost will be added to the native soils to help rebuild them. Make a cash donation. It costs a minimum of $20/day to keep Faerie Hill in existence and much more if one includes improvements. If you use the place for education, enjoyment, or to simply commune with nature, please pay your fair share by placing your contribution in the box. Economics is a powerful force for planetary regeneration as well as necessary to keep this place in existence.
