Fair Taxing ( 1 tax rate for everyone) not fair because the cost of subsistence isnt scalable. 20% of 20K doesnt have the same effect on a quality of life as 20% on $20M. Also, the lower classes are spending a greater % of their income that the higher levels. That spending is what keeps the economy moving. (Guess who benefits from that spending and would suffer from decreased spending?) The excess saving at the top on the other hand is economic cancer. So whats fair doesnt really matter in the face of whats required.
