For example, a student who is interested in becoming a doctor, nurse, medical technician, pharmacist, x-ray technician, physician’s assistant, or any other career in the medical field would benefit from the four (4) classes in the STEM Health Science Academy. STEM is an acronym for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The National Science Foundation considers study in the fields of Chemistry, Computer and Information Technology Science, Engineering, Geosciences, Life Sciences, Mathematical Sciences, Physics and Astronomy, Social Sciences, Anthropology, Economics, Psychology and Sociology to be STEM fields.
