Fairfood is an international NGO that came to Morocco last year to closely inspect the economic injustices agricultural workers, the ones picking and packing tomatoes in particular, suffer from. They are now leading a worldwide awareness-raising campaign in favour of these labourers, especially targeting European citizens, with the message being: tomatoes sold in Europe are made available by poor Moroccan workers who earn 5.3 euros per day, and who are exposed to poisonous chemicals in their work. More than that, these workers are responsible for their family members, and find it hard to afford a loaf of bread and a teapot (thats what keeps them from starvation, really!), let alone medicines, housing, and all the other needs of our modern times. Spread the word, and get involved in your own way!
