Fairgrounds Racing Program Advisory Committee Committee Description The committee will provide input and support to the Fairgrounds Corporation, El Paso County and race promoter regarding the advancement of the racing program at the El Paso County Fairgrounds. Committee Structure. The committee will consist of two Fairgrounds Corporation members and five at-large members appointed by the Fairgrounds Corporation. the members will serve two years terms. The Director of Community Services will provide staff support for the committee. Specific Duties 1. Serve as a conduit for race supporters to provide input on the racing program. 2. Research long-term opportunities to improve the racing program and provide recommendations to the Fairgrounds Corporation. 3. Provide recommendations on race track and associated facility improvements to the Fairgrounds Corporation. 4. Provide input on race track maintenance to the Fairgrounds Corporation, El Paso County and the promoter. 5. Regularly attend racing events and provide feedback to the Fairgrounds Corporation, El Paso County and race promoter on potential improvements. 6. Provide recommendations on the ongoing financial sustainability of the racing program. 7. Assist with expanding marketing efforts for the racing program. 8. Explore opportunities to increase fan satisfaction at racing events. Meeting schedule The committee will meet on the first Thursday of each month at 5 p.m. at the El Paso County Fairgrounds and at other times as desired by the committee.
