Fairwheel Bikes has done an exhaustive test of crank and BB stiffness. While we find the results fascinating, we also are curious about this: Fairwheel suggests that crank stiffness doesnt matter much in terms of power efficiency - at least not given the relatively small measured differences in rigidity. So, is stiffer really faster, or is it simply just stiffer?
