Faith and religion Some people were surprised when I declared my repudiation of religion. They did not understand why. Then, I gave them a clear explanation, and yet they still did not understand. Let’s see if you will understand. Religion separates people, creates friction, and divides households and couples. It’s satan’s most terrible creation on earth. The Catholic, the evangelical, the spiritualist and all the other religions turn "faith" into their private territory. Religious people are passionate, and sometimes even fanatical, because they use faith without common sense, without thinking. The evil force that possesses fanatical football fans is the same one that possesses religious fanatics. History records that the greatest wars in human history had religion as an instigator. Could this be the will of God for humankind? "Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and every city or house divided against itself will not stand." Matthew 12.25 When I told them that Christian faith has nothing to do with religion or religiosity, they became even more confused. The Lord Jesus did not create religion. He established the Kingdom of God, that is, His Church. The people who make up this Kingdom, or Church, are subject to the lordship of Jesus. They seek the justice of the Kingdom of God. He is the Head of the body, and His disciples, its members. This body has One Spirit, the Holy Spirit; One heart, a new heart; One mind, the mind of Christ; One thought, the Word of God; One faith, supernatural faith; One character, the character of God; One direction, the direction given by the Spirit of Jesus. Therefore, no one (absolutely no one) who is not in the Body belongs to the Lord Jesus. There is no use in confessing Him as Lord but not obeying Him; crying out to Him but not listening to Him; attending a church but not behaving as the Bible teaches. One can only be a part of Him or of His Body if they are born of the water and the Holy Spirit. Whoever is a foreign body in this Body will be vomited sooner or later, like undigested food. Friction, strife, gossip, evil eyes, prejudice and criticism from so-called Christians are some of the signs of the fleshly nature of religious people — and not of the Kingdom of God or of His Church. To be a Christian is to be filled and guided by the Spirit of Christ. If you still have doubts about the explanation above, then read and meditate on what the apostle Paul wrote to the newly converted Christians who lived in Rome, and draw your own conclusions. "But you are not in the flesh but in the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he is not His." Romans 8.9
