I was told I had an emergency telephone call. My sister, Oleta, was on the line, crying hysterically. She told me her daughters baby had been born dead. The doctor now said the baby was alive, but he couldnt live, and he wouldnt be normal if he did live, because of a lack of oxygen to his brain. The doctor told the family, The babys face is deformed. It would be better if you didnt see him. Well just dispose of the body when the baby does expire. Oleta cried, Benny [the babys father] wants you to pray. I knew my family were just babies when it came to spiritual matters, and I thought about Mark 11:23, Truely I tell you, if you say to this mountain, Be taken up and thrown into the sea, and do not doubt in your heart, but believe that what you say will come to pass, it will be done for you. Oleta, where is Benny? I asked. Right outside the phone booth, she replied. Now listen - the minute you hang up, turn to Benny and say, Benny, Uncle Ken said the baby will live and not die. He will be all right. Do you think so? Oleta asked. No, I dont think so; I know so. Ive got Jesus Word for it. Not ten minutes later, a nurse came running out and told them, You can see the baby! Hes all right. While we were looking at him, his face filled out just like youd blow up a balloon! You cant shut God out, if youll believe Him. When youre up against the wall, dont start begging God to break through it for you. Thats not the way He works. Hell give you the plan. Hell give you the power. And Hell guarantee the victory.
