Faith in humanity restored. I was late for my 6:42 am flight to Denver, and the guy at the desk (Orlando) gave me the option between a direct flight that got in at 1:30 or one with a connection that got in at 1. Also, no charge for the flight change. I opted for the direct flight, obviously, and 15 minutes ago that flight was cancelled. As I was waiting at the service desk to figure out what my options were, I felt a tap on my shoulder, and turned around to see Orlando standing behind me. Go to gate C9 right now, here you go, he said, as he handed me tickets routing me through Chicago and landing in Denver at the same time as I was already scheduled to land. He got me the last seat on the flight out of LGA plus its extra legroom seating. Today is gonna be/already is a good day. I never thought that missing a flight and having my next one cancelled could result in such good vibes. Thank you, Orlando. I promise to pay your kindness forward at the next available opportunity.
