Faith is the first principle of the Gospel of Jesus Christ: it is not to have a perfect knowledge of things, but it is things hoped for and not seen, which are true, and it comes from hearing and applying the words of God (the scriptures); from those words of God, we learn that faith is an action word, or as stated in James, Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone. Faith is needed for salvation. We can accomplish all that God wants us to do with faith because faith is power. On the other hand you cant do anything without faith. If you are weak, by using faith, God will make you strong, and if you have humility about your weakness, and if you ask God, through the Atonement you will be given strength. If you have even a particle of faith, a seed, dont cast it out, if its a good seed. Let it grow, because faith is the start of a good thing.
