Faithfood for the Faithful July 8, 2014 St. Gregroy Grassi & Companions Readings: Hosea 8: 4-7, 11-13; Psalm 115: 3-10; Matthew 9: 32-38 Insights: VOCATION Bro. Rolan Banting, SOWER To pray for vocation is not an option, this is a mandate from Jesus. “The harvest is rich, but the labourers are few, so ask the Lord of the harvest to send out labourers to His harvest.” The great majority of the Catholics are the Laity. They comprise more than 99 % of the faithful. We are now in the middle of the Year of the Laity as declared by the CBCP. As lay people, our vocation is to seek the Kingdom of God in our ordinary secular life according to Vatican II Lumen Gentium 31. As we engage in our daily routine, in school, at work, in our daily travel, in our family – do we talk about Jesus, His goodness, and His love? Also, from the laity will come those who are called to the vocation of priesthood. But how will the young people know if they have calling to the priesthood if no one will ask them and introduce the priesthood as life direction? Prayer: Lord, send out labourers to Your harvest. Amen. Hand of the Sower Catholic Community Salt of the World Evangelistic Resource Mt. 13:37 “...the man who sowed the good seed is the Son of Man.
