Faithfood for the Faithful November 23, 2013 St. Clement I Readings: 1 Maccabees 6:1-13; Psalm 9:2-4, 6, 16, 19; Luke 20: 27-40 Insights: MAMBMS Bro. Wilfred Casumbal, Tanglaw Abraham Lincoln said, “‘Tis better to be silent and be thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.” Don’t we all fall into that “fools’ trap” every so often? I have a name for that: MAMBMS ‐ Me and My Big Mouth Syndrome. Alternatively, I also call it FIMD ‐ Foot in Mouth Disease. Oh, many times we are guilty of that! Jumping to conclusions, smirking with unsavory remarks, blurting out judgmental comments, whispering bitter nothings. Worst still is when we do this to God: “Lord, this is my plan. Please approve it!” or “Lord, this is what I want. Please bless it!” or “Lord, You said You’d save me! Why did you let this happen to me?” “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has known, no heart has imagined, what God has prepared for those who love Him.” (1 Cor. 2:9) How foolish we are indeed not to realize that where man’s wisdom ends, God’s begins. Albert Einstein is really a genius: “Before God, we are all equally wise, and equally foolish.” Prayer: Father, please guide each step I take so I will walk humbly with You each day. Amen.
