Fake police officer caught... when he stopped a real police officer for speeding A fake police officer was caught tricking drivers into pulling over - when he stopped a real police officer by mistake. Bogus bobby Jonathan Weekes, 48, put a blue flashing light on top of his Vauxhall Insignia and started patrolling the streets. But a court heard he tried out his ruse on the wrong motorist - when he pulled over an actual cop driving in an unmarked car. Blundering Weekes was shocked when he approached the parked car to see the fully uniformed officer sat in the drivers seat. Weekes pleaded guilty to acting falsely in suggesting he was a police officer - an offence under the Police Act 1966 - by using a vehicle on a road fitted with a blue warning beacon or device resembling one used by the police. He also admitted driving without due care and attention. Weekes was given a 12-month community order and ban from driving for six months. He was told to pay £85 costs and a £60 surcharge.
