Falcon Nation observations..... We can be proud of the effort so many young athletes are putting in working in strength and conditioning and in their various sports. We can be proud of the many coaches donating their time to making our youth camps and team workouts organized and fun. The more athletes and coaches who choose to buy in, the faster we challenge for MAC titles. In regards to camps.....very outstanding of our Wrestling Coaches to attract two Iowa Hawkeye wrestlers to come present and teach our guys. I witnessed Coach Crane reminding athletes many weeks before school dismissed to mark those dates out on the calender. As a fan I am proud of the 9 athletes that showed up to make themselves and our wrestling program better. I would be remiss to say as a fan it is disappointing more of our wrestling athletes failed to make a commitment to show up. It was a very inexpensive camp for such high profile camp coaches (Go Hawkeyes!!) We will only get better if everyone buys in. Great athletes make no excuses. Our youth camps are going very well!! Young Falcons are having fun and our high school Falcons are being great role models in teaching. I watched personally our football players showing great enthusiasm also with the kids. Our tennis team also stepped up big and had fun with our young athletes even when the weather did not cooperate. Volleyball girls also showed enthusiasm in the youth camp. I would expect the same in all the other camp offerings. Thanks to the campers and high school teams for being flexible on where we place everyone so all get the opportunity to improve and become champions!! Spotlight on volleyball......42 girls showing up at 7 a.m. for on court instruction is awesome!! Fun to watch the buy in to be a tough team. They also are showing up to weight room for the most part.
