Falkofske’s concerns were confirmed in auditPublished 3/28 at 11:34 p.m. 1 Sara Andrea-Neill Pleasant Prairie Falkofske’s concernswere confirmed in audit Mike Falkofske and I met when we both started attending school board meetings a few years ago. We both had concerns about the direction of our children’s education. We were concerned about problems related to the Transformation Plan such as large, chaotic, multi-age classrooms; the elimination of the honors programs in middle school; the elimination of letter grades in grade school; and the discipline problems that were being ignored. We were concerned that classrooms were going downhill while extravagant spending continued at the administrative level for things like billboards and outside consultants. Mike began to dig deeper into what was going on in the district. Teachers were being silenced through fear tactics under the Hancock administration. Some teachers indicated that they were being forced to under-report or not report discipline problems at all. The chaos in the classroom made it difficult to teach. Curriculum problems were being swept under the rug. Untested curriculum was being implemented with no proven results. Money that could have been spent in the classrooms was wasted. Mike began to speak out at almost every board meeting about the changes that were hurting our children and our community. He was not about to stand silent. All of Mike’s concerns were confirmed by the recent curriculum audit. The problems in the district are problems that Mike has been passionate about for years. Mike will continue to fight for common sense solutions to fix our district. He will continue to fight to rein in costs and streamline curriculum. He will fight to restore discipline in the classroom. I am voting for Mike Falkofske. I hope you will, too. Sara Andrea-Neill Pleasant Prairie
