Fall Colors in Tatev - Syunik Province, Armenia Wings of Tatev is an aerial tramway to Syunik Regions natural wonders. Discover the majestic beauty of Armenia while enjoying an unforgettable ride, across the Vorotan River gorge, on the worlds longest non-stop double track cable car. The cableway “Wings of Tatev” – a Guinness Book of Records entry – is located in the Syunik Province, in the south of Armenia. An aerial cable car line with a vertical clearance of 320 meters, it is equipped to carry 25 passengers. The cableway covers the distance between the villages of Halidzor and Tatev (about 5.7 km) in 12 minutes. It was built specially for accessing the medieval Tatev Monastery Complex. The Tatev monastery (Տաթևի վանք Tatevi vank ) is a 9th-century monastery located on a large basalt plateau near the Tatev village in Syunik Province in southeastern Armenia. The term Tatev usually refers to the monastery. The monastic ensemble stands on the edge of a deep gorge of the Vorotan River. Tatev is known as the bishopric seat of Syunik and played a significant role in the history of the region as a center of economic, political, spiritual and cultural activity.
