Fall Gardening: Overhaul all the beds and weed all over the yard of morning glory. Put in new dirt, compost, manure x10 bags into the beds and plant the cover crops so the beds are ready for early spring planting. Plant a few overwintering plants like garlic. Alot of garlic. Id also like plant things like nettles, milk thistle and black berries on the alley side. Which would entail digging up the soil, grasses and weeds all along there, then laying down some barrier and adding new/used dirt. Map out crop rotation. Build Trelliss & Supports for the plants that will need them. Dig up sod and make new beds here and there between existing fence beds. Root some fruit tree branches and grow them into trees ready for transplant next year in spring. Greenhouse herbs, goji berries, ginger and tumeric need about 4 bags of sea soil & compost to be potted up for the winter to mature before spring planting. And the lawn which becomes more dirt and dust every year will need 5 bags of topsoil and a bag of grass seed or two. Then the perenniel plants will need pruning and supplemental soil for mounding and frost/insect protection. Especially the plum tree. Put up new plywood where rotted and fallen off between house and new yuppy neighbors so they cant take any more photos of our yard. lol. And note grow Sunchokes as a natural block next year. Turn all rotting and unpiked garden veg into more fermented stuff. :) Nail leaning fence next to old compost back up. Clean up old compost and refresh it since i havent been able to get black city compost bins (racoon proof). Reinforce fence where needed so it doesnt collapse on garden over winter. ......................to be continued.
