Fall has officially arrived in the high desert. The beautiful temperatures (cool in the evening, warm during the day) make this one of the best times of year in El Paso. Try to get out into our home town and experience some of the great fall offerings! Here are a few ideas for your weekend (more in comments): Hueco Tanks Interpretive Fair — The 20th annual Interpretive Fair is 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 18-19, at Hueco Tanks State Historic Site, 6900 Hueco Tanks Road. Sponsored by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department and co-hosted by the Texas Wildlife Association Foundation. Native American dancing and drumming, folklorico and matachine dancers, pictograph, birding and nature tours, atl-atl throwing for kids, information booths, and food for sale. Admission is free, but donations welcome. Information: 857-1135 or texasstateparks.gov. Birding tours are 8 a.m. both days.
