Fallen Ones next up is Jake *Purdys Pixie* Isolated Faults (Jake) I have to stay up, you tell yourself, wrapping your arms around a hot water bottle, I have to wait for Jake to come home from tour. You lie on the couch in your purple flannel pyjamas, with a pile of tissues used for wiping away your tears accumulating on the couch. You’ve convinced yourself that this was your punishment, that you deserve these tears for losing the baby. I’ll just nap until he comes back, you close your eyes and sleep overcomes you easily. You don’t dream, you don’t have enough energy for that. You don’t have enough energy for anything, when was the last time you’ve eaten anything? Arms grasp your shoulders, shaking you out of your slumber. Go away, you think in your mind, unable to speak aloud, I just want to sleep. “(Y/N)!” You can recognise Jake’s voice. “(Y/N), wake up, you have to wake up!” You try to roll over in his arms, but he has a firm grasp on you as he continues to shake you awake. You rub your eyes, convincing yourself that after you kiss him hello he’ll let you go back to sleep. “What?” You snap. I’m taking you to the hospital, Jake tells you, letting go of you momentarily to get your jacket, Something isn’t right. You shake your head, you already know what is wrong; you were wrong, you lost the baby. “No,” you say, “No hospital.” Jake sits back down next to you, pulling your limp body up to rest against his warm chest, which you fit perfectly into. He runs his rough hands down your arms, taking your hands in his, running his thumb along top side of your palm. He rests his chin against the top of your head, sighing slightly, before taking in your surroundings. “Have you been crying?” He asks you, noticing the tissues. Finding the energy to turn and face Jake, you open your mouth to explain everything to him, but nothing comes out except for more tears. Jake wraps his arms around your waist, pulling you closer, letting you cry against his shoulder. He rubs his hands over your back soothingly. I haven’t been eating… You tell him, avoiding eye contact, Not since I lost the baby. You can’t face him, you can’t face all the mistakes you’ve made. I didn’t tell you about it, I didn’t know how you were going to react. It’s all my fault; everything.” Cupping your chin in his hands, you close your eyes as Jake leans forwards and presses his lips against yours, “Sweetheart,” he murmurs, “We can try for a baby another time. What’s important is your health.” Opening your eyes, your smile softly through the blur in your eyes; Jake always knew how to make you feel better. You loop your arms around his neck, weakly pulling yourself towards him for a hug which you want to last forever. I’m going to make you something to eat, he tells you, letting you rest against the back of the couch, And I’m not going to be satisfied until you’ve finished the lot. He walks over to the kitchen and comes back less than five minutes later with a bowl of pumpkin soup, your favourite. He holds your waist while you drink it, dabbing small kisses along the side of your neck as you feel your energy levels rise. You giggle as you place the empty bowl of soup on the coffee table, turning around in his arms and kissing him properly. “I love you Jake,” you murmur. - - - written by fact0ry-made
