Falling into sin is NOT backsliding! Turning from God and refusing - TopicsExpress

Falling into sin is NOT backsliding! Turning from God and refusing to repent is backsliding. Backsliding is habitually sinning and being impenitent. Again, it is a turning away from God. Sinning is not acceptable, but the fallen Christian is redeemable through confession to God and repentance (1 Jn 1:9)! But, the backslider cannot be saved until they stop blaming their walking away from God on everyone or anyone else and begin to take personal responsibility for their decisions to sin/failures. Only then can they repent. To be restored the backslider must see their sin as being against God only. In Davids prayer of repentance (Ps 51), he prayed, Against thee and thee only have I sinned, and done this evil in thy sight. NOBODY else can make my decision to walk away from following the Word of God but me! If I do, it is nobodys fault but mine. As long as I blame others, I will NEVER find my way back to God!
