Family Cancels Light Display SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WGGB) — A Connecticut family has cancelled their beloved Christmas lights display after a number of complaints over traffic. For six years, families have driven by this light display in Southington, Connecticut. It took a week to string 50,000 lights and sync up music to the display, and the homeowner had even scaled it back this year after neighbors complained that the display caused major traffic jams. Now, the lights are off for good. The homeowner explained on Facebook that it was more than just one thing that brought on the decision. He claimed to have gotten posts and comments online, as well as threats of legal action. He said it simply had become too stressful. The family apologized to anyone who planned to come out and see the display.
