Family Haven is hiring a manager for their Thrift Store... Could you be the person they are looking for? FORSYTH COUNTY FAMILY HAVEN, INC. JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Thrift Store Manager Department: Thrift Store Status: Full time, Exempt; 40 hours per week. Reports to: Executive Director Job Purpose: This Thrift Store Manager is responsible for arranging pickups, deliveries, organizing the furniture, all other merchandise and sorting items to be placed on the floor for purchase. Hours: Official hours of operation of the Thrift Stores are Monday-Friday 9:00 am to 6:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Volunteers are not to be left in charge of the store or cash register at any time. Essential Functions: • All sorting of donated items will be done in the sorting room only. • All trash emptied daily - last thing before closing the store for the day • All bread and perishables taken to the dumpster at the close of the day • Counters need to be kept cleared • All sales have to go through the cash register. All money must balance and only managers and store clerks can run the register. Each manager/store clerk will be responsible for their money each day. Cash registers will be cleared after each shift, bank deposit must be completed and inserted into the safe box slot. • Keep thrift store clean including cleaning the bathroom. Organize hangers on empty racks daily. • All lights, fans, air conditioners or any other electrical appliance is to be turned off at the end of each workday. • Manager will be solely responsible for the fair pricing of items to be sold. • Manager will be responsible for all donation pickups. All pickups will be scheduled thru the Thrift Store. • Manager must keep a log of all large donated items. This log will show when item came in and where it went. • Manager is responsible for doing inventory every quarter. • All maintenance problems must be reported immediately and go thru the administrative office. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: • Able to speak and work well with others • Valid driver license with no offenses and able to drive Family Havens truck. • Able to work in stressful and quick changing environment. • Have flexibility with schedule changes. • Must be able to work independently and with minimal direct supervision. • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office Applications. Employment Requirements: • Five years minimum experience in retail • Bachelor’s degree in administration or related filed, or a combination of education and experience working in retail • Staff supervisory experience • Punctual , meticulous and reliable • Courteous manners with the public • Ability to physically perform the essential job functions • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and web-based applications This is not an exclusive list of all responsibilities, skills, duties, requirements, efforts or working conditions associated with the job.
