Family Seeking Temporary Housing in Northwestern Chicago While Son - TopicsExpress

Family Seeking Temporary Housing in Northwestern Chicago While Son is Receiving Treatment for Leukemia LCC received the following request for temporary housing from Eileen Fitzenreiter of LCMS Foundations Ohio District: My assistants 28-year-old son has been suffering through treatment for his rare form of leukemia for nearly a year. With no good match for a bone marrow donor found in the national database he needs to go to University of Chicago Hospital in Chicago, Illinois for a complex transplant. His home is in New Orleans, Louisianan and his familys home is in Ohio. He was finally being taken to Chicago on a medical flight on January 18th and will need to be there for at least six months after the transplant. He will be in the hospital some of that time but his family and caregivers need a place to stay. We are currently looking for some economical housing available for his family now. Perhaps a snowbird that would sublet their home to this wonderful family. Later on when he is able to leave the hospital, his immune system will be completely compromised so he will need a sterile environment then too. If you have any suggestions for these situations, we would certainly appreciate your advice. If you or someone you know has a home for this family, please contact Eileen Fitzenreiter by email at [email protected]. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers as they go through this trying time.
