Family Update: After two days of Violet not acting like her happy self and developing a fever, we brought her into the hospital around midnight last night. While breastfeeding her at the hospital, I noticed that her neck was hard and swollen on one side. Several hours of needles, catheter and ultrasounds, she was moved to the Pediatrics Wing. It was so heart breaking to watch. She is on tylenol, 2 antibiotics, probiotics and now a steroid. The swelling on her neck is an infected lymph node and is being watched closely. While some test results have come back clear, her white blood cell count was 37 (normal is between 5-15) and other cultures are not back yet. I am able to hold her and nurse her. This afternoon Violet has been more cheerful, talking to the nurses. Right now, Violet will be in the hospital for 3-5 more days and may have to have surgery on the node. I will be staying with Violet at the hospital while Joey will go back and forth. I am thankful that my mom is in town to help with Lily and Quentin. Joey and I want to thank everyone for your support and prayers. Thank you for the meals for my family so Joey and my mom dont have to worry and can focus on the kids. Thank you to M Sue Cangemi for coming to our house at 2am to stay with the kids so Joey could come to the hospital. Hopefully we will be home soon. Hugs.
