(OBSERVER media) ST JOHN’S, Antigua – The man believed to be the victim of Antigua & Barbuda’s 12th homicide for 2014, has been described by family members as a humble individual who spent most of his time on his farm. “Most people say he is a peace to the dead; he does not trouble people,” said Demian Andrew, the eldest son of the deceased, Conroy Augustus Andrew. “My Daddy did construction seven days a week. He worked, came home, go to his farm to look after his animals, come back in the evening; same routine over and over again. “He is very giving; he has goats, sheep and cattle. He would rather give. If he goes and meet somebody on the farm, stealing, he would tell them to go ahead; he would not trouble them,” Demian said through tears in an OBSERVER media interview. The body of the 53-year-old husband and father of four was discovered by family members on his farm in Dinsdale, Liberta, at around 9:30 pm on Monday. Police said there appeared to be a gunshot wound to his upper body. Family members launched a search for the Liberta resident earlier that evening after he failed to return home at the time he was accustomed to. A police officer who was part of the search party informed the siblings their father was dead and had been dead for a while prior to the discovery. More police officers were called in and the circumstances surrounding the man’s death are currently being investigated. Up until the time of going to press there were no suspects. Meantime, lawmen are appealing to anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the Criminal Investigations Department at 462-3913/14, or call Crime Stoppers at 800-Tips (8477).
