Family visits are always too short...this is especially true today...on Friday night, my 62 grandson was sleeping on my living room couch but last night he was comfortably sleeping in his own bed when my fire alarm decided to announce that it needed a new battery at 2:15 am. After scraping myself off the ceiling, I pinballed my bedheaded, furry brained self down the hallway at a speed of approximately Mach1 to try to silence the godawful din....standing on a chair and swatting at it didnt work, nor did swinging a broom...finding the ladder, setting it up, and climbing it involved a little more than I care to describe...I will deal with the carnage later...suppose I will have to make a trip to Home Depot when it opens for a little spackle for the hole in the ceiling and a new smoke detector...the good news? I can cancel that stress test - heart is working just fine...
