Fan Appreciation Heats Up The Season Saturday, June 8th, 2013 Norway, MI Jim Stanchina The Thirsty Whale bar and Grill of Norway, Dairy Queen of Kingsford and UPCARS presented Fan Appreciation Night at the Norway Speedway. Hundreds of fans were treated to souvenirs, autographs, and some one on one time with Norway’s finest drivers on the front stretch before the night kicked off. 50 lap Coca-Cola Late Model Main event was led early on by Tony Wells, Rookie Joe Pontbriand quickly moved into the second position to challenge the lead, but was over taken by Brian Stanchina on lap seven. Slicing through the field form his 13th starting positing was the #2 of Dillon Kralovetz, moving into the lead on lap 16. Kralovetz held a comfortable lead over second place Brian Stanchina and seemed to be in cruise control on his way to securing his second feature win of the season. Although stalking the field and moving through traffic from his last starting position was current point leader Dalton Zehr. Zehr put himself into position to challenge Kralovetz for the lead, and after a brief door to door battle Zehr motored ahead. Zehr survived a late restart unchallenged and held on for his second consecutive Coca-Cola Late Model Feature win. 1. #99 Dalton Zehr 2. #2 Dillon Kralovetz 3. #1 Mike Reichenberger 4. #79 Jordan Ives 5. #79 Dan Lindsley Auto Value Super Stock Main event had Mike Stanchina battling Jeff Boetcher for the early lead. Stanchina Secured the pass on the second lap and opened up a multi-car length lead. Tim Schultz cleared himself of traffic moving into the second position and started to reel in the leader. Schultz caught Stanchina on lap 13 as the two ran nose to tail. As Stanchina came across the line to lead lap 16, his car broke loose heading into turn one allowing Schultz to secure the pass on the inside. Schultz pulled away and cruised for his first win of the season. 1. #5 Tim Shultz 2. #00 Ryan Wender 3. #16 Mike Stanchina 4. #6 Brett Bray 5. #77 Tanner Kelly Marissa Bazan jumped to the lead from her second row starting spot to lead the early laps of the DQ-Dog Feature. Cody Skog took the lead halfway through the race and seemed to be in control until Matt Adams ran him down to challenge Skog for the victory. Sport Truck feature was won by Jake Boldig, followed by #50, #96 Jason Plutz 4. #5 Brian Vixmer 5. #51. Dan Lindsley won the Coca-Cola Late Model Semi feature earning a starting position for the main event, and Shawn Majkrzak finished second also earning a spot in the feature. Coca-Cola Heat winners were Mike Reichenberger in the Fast dash, Dan Lindsley in the first heat, Jason Blohm in the second heat, and Mike D’Angelo in the third heat. Ryan Wender out dueled Brett Bray to win the Auto Value Super Stock heat race. Jim Stanchina used every inch of the speedway to hold off a hard charging Marissa Bazan to win the first DQ-Dog Heat, While Austin Stanchina pulled away from the field to win the second DQ-Dog heat race.
