Fan share! I will be celebrating my 1 year breastfeeding nursaverssary on Sunday. I prayed I would make it this far and I am so excited that I did. It was a very hard road. When I first started breastfeeding it hurt so bad when he would latch on that I would cry. I tried to wait as long as I could in between feedings because the pain of him latching was so intense. I started using nipple shields and that seemed to help a little. Finally at 6 weeks I could take it no more and went to a lactation consultant. Turned out my son was tongue tied and it was interfering with his latch. I posted some pics of his tongue tie on this page and after many of you recommended I have it snipped I did. After the procedure nursing was a joy. I started to look forward to the feedings and the one on one time with my baby. Now here we are, almost a year later and we both still enjoy nursing. I am so glad I never gave up. Even with all the pain I kept doing it. I might have quit had it not been for the support of my husband who kept telling me it would get better. Now to make it to our next goal of 18 months. Thanks to all the ladies on here who answered my questions when I had them. I have you all to thank as well :-) and little Austin says thank you too!
