FanFest 2014, presented by Bud Light, set for Saturday, Aug. 2 The San Diego Chargers will host FanFest 2014, presented by Bud Light, on Saturday, Aug. 2 at Qualcomm Stadium. It will be a special day for Chargers fans of all ages and, best of all, parking and admission are FREE. It will mark the first time that fans will get to see the Chargers take the field at Qualcomm Stadium since last year’s thrilling Week 17 overtime win against Kansas City that propelled the Bolts into the playoffs. It will also mark the first time fans will see the team’s newest acquisitions step onto the Qualcomm Stadium field donning lightning bolts. It’s a cast that includes first-round draft pick Jason Verrett and free agent cornerback Brandon Flowers, along with some of the fans’ favorite returnees, including Philip Rivers, Eric Weddle, Antonio Gates and Malcom Floyd. After the stadium gates will open at 9:45 a.m., the morning will kick off with the debut performance of the 2014 Charger Girls, followed by a hard-hitting full-pads practice from 10:30-noon. At FanFest, the Chargers will host a Select-a-Seat opportunity in which some of the best available season-ticket locations will be tagged and available for purchase. Fans interested in looking at season-ticket options can access the stadium through the Chargers Ticket Office at Gate C at the stadium starting at 8 a.m. As an added bonus, every fan who purchases a new season ticket account at FanFest will receive a free Chargers replica micro-helmet. Single-game tickets to all 10 home games remain on sale. From 10-11 a.m. at Gates A, D and G on the plaza concourse, fans will also have a chance to meet a special group of Chargers alumni who will be available for autographs, pictures and football chat. The list of alumni schedule to attend includes Hank Bauer, Rolf Benirschke, Willie Buchanon, John Carney, Luis Castillo, Burt Grossman, Mark Seay, Billy Shields, Billy Ray Smith and Doug Wilkerson. The entire 2014 Charger Girls squad will also be available for pictures and autographs. Many of the entertainers who are at the stadium on game days will also be in attendance at FanFest and fans will have an opportunity to get their faces painted and receive temporary tattoos among other fan-friendly opportunities on the Plaza level concourse. Fans should bring an appetite as hot dogs will be available for just $2 apiece. Also, some of the newest Chargers merchandise and apparel, including jerseys, hats and t-shirts, will be available at the Chargers Team Store at Gate G. Every fan who spends at least $50 anywhere inside the stadium during FanFest will receive a 2014 Chargers Yearbook as a gift. Fans can find more information on FanFest by visiting Chargers or calling 858-874-4500.
