Fans we are of Kamil Nawratils unmistakable dark, techno-organic style put to use here for the #dubfireLive:HYBRID shows. Well have an article soon but till then some images and photos of the show and content. The show begins on the micro level. Micro-organisms expand and form greater parts, pieces are drawn together and evolve into an autonomous entity.The entity is but a small mechanism within the greater “server.” The entity reacts. Tension develops and the narrative unfolds. Alongside 3D and comp software we used TouchDesigner to develop a playback system conscious of the GPU memory as well as to generate scenes in between our renders. Touch allows us to seamlessly load in lots of pre-rendered video and real-time sound reactive geometry without frame-rate loss. Then on top of that we have the stage piece content, reactive entirely to MIDI signals from Dubfires Ableton session and custom effects applied during the performance.
