Fantastic meeting of the Fulton Planning Commission this evening, and now the news I have been promising... Davis-Standard (Black Clawson) will NOT be closing their plant in Fulton, and in fact will be phasing out operations in New Jersey and bringing that production to Fulton! Thats right folks, the tide has turned and Fulton finally wins one! Universal Metal Works (located on North Second Street / 481) was instrumental in the decision, as Universal works closely with Davis-Standard. Universal, in turn, will be expanding their facilities to accommodate the increase in their contracts AND will be leasing space to Davis-Standard for some of the work being brought from New Jersey. Final planning is being developed and we expect to see them back by next months meeting, if not a special meeting before then. Check tomorrows local news for more information as we had a reporter present this evening. I cannot stress how BIG this news is to the community, and hope this is the beginning to more good news. Next month should also bring forth some information on some small development in the city, so stay tuned for more in the coming weeks! For the future, Ralph
