Fantastic morning at Hains Point today! We welcomed some newcomers to Hains Point and some newcomers to Team RWB. In all, we had 2 cyclists, 6 runners, 9 walkers and two bald eagles! We began the morning by honoring Army Pfc. George R. Geer who was killed ten years ago today - January 17, 2005 - while serving during Operation Iraqi Freedom. Geer, 27, of Cortez, CO was assigned to the 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Infantry Division, Camp Casey, Korea. He was killed when a vehicle-borne improvised explosive device detonated near his position in Ramadi, Iraq. “There’s been Geers in the military every generation since the Revolutionary War. George believed in his country and what he was doing,” said his father, Harold Geer. PFC Geer, thank you for continuing your familys service to our country. You will not be forgotten. projects.militarytimes/valor/army-pfc-george-r-geer/608762 Chris Spurrier Christina Spurrier Shumaisa Raza Will Franceschini Orlando Hollis Teresea Stiner Jim Flood Matt Howard Darcy Howard Yogesh Kalotra Shruti Kapur Alex Sviridovsky Liz K Medina
