Far South Coast Rural Fire Service Controller John Cullen has called for a Section 44 declaration to unite all emergency services under one command, as Nerrigundah residents brace for fire. Mr Cullen said the Buckyjumba fire was burning over about 150 hectares, one kilometre north of Brices Rd and 15 km west of Nerrigundah. A change late Thursday has put pressure on Nerrigundah and nearby communities. Belowras Yvonne Thomson is fearing for the safety of firefighters. The wife of Eurobodalla Shire Councillor Fergus Thomson said dry lightening from Monday nights storm had ignited Deua forestland north east of her farm.
