Far too much of our planet has been degraded for profits already. This coal should be held in reserve as we transition to wind, solar & biomass for our energy needs. There are alternatives, good job-creating alternatives to the 19th century fossil fuel technologies that have changed and continue to change the dynamics of our planet for the worse. These green alternatives should be invested in and developed, rather than the pockets of greedy coal operators stuffed with blood money. Good people have dedicated and even given up their lives for the dynamic beauty of the particular area Alton Coal seeks to defile for profits. Please bear that in mind as the falsely patriotic songs about the need for domestic fossil fuel extraction are sung into your ears by well-paid shills for the fossil fuel exploitation & overuse industry.
