Farther south/east...thats where the frustration has been all day. - TopicsExpress

Farther south/east...thats where the frustration has been all day. It started right away with unexpected sleet/freezing rain/snow grains that took a bite out of our forecast accumulations. Then it was an also unexpected dry slot that took up persistent residence over Cape May and Atlantic counties much of the afternoon. That further ate into my forecast snow totals, and increased your frustration in meteorologist and my frustration as a meteorologist. Id say my frustration is the greater of the two, but based on some of the colorful, comical, and unfortunately in some cases highly critical(and in some cases profane/obscene) tweets and posts Ive come across, Id probably be incorrect(again). So those comments, when printed out add up to a stack 6-10 high. Does that count accumulation-wise? lol:) But those that know me realize I am highly critical of myself when the forecast goes awry, especially with the time and energy I invest in putting forth the most accurate forecast I can with each and every weather event. Rest assured I learn from every blown forecast, and I become a better meteorologist with each and every lesson learned. I take full responsibility for every forecast I issue, and also be the first to humbly admit when it fails to meet expectations. Certainly today qualifies...so its humble pie for a snack when I get home. Remember I am perhaps South Jerseys biggest snow lover...so flake fanatics...I feel your pain.
