Fascia. The fascial system is the most complex and understudied system of the body. It is essential in the stability and movement of the body, and also for recovery from accidents and injuries. Healthy fascia helps to maintain good posture, range of motion and flexibility. It also gives our bodies tremendous strength and helps us deal with excessive stress and injuries. What is Fascia? -Fascia is dense tissue that surrounds and covers all of your muscles and bones. -It connects every part of our body to another. It provides support and stability, and acts as a shock absorber for your body. -Connective tissue becomes shortened following a fall, whiplash, surgery or emotional trauma, and tightens overtime if left untreated. -This causes pain and decreased mobility, eventually resulting in faulty mechanics and altered structural alignment in the body. -Myofascial Release is a very effective hands-on therapy that has been used successfully for over a hundred years to treat difficult and recurring injuries and pain. -The purpose of Myofascial Release is to break down scar tissue, relax the muscle and fascia and restore good posture. -Myofascial Release techniques focus on relaxing the deep tissue of the body providing lasting and effective relief to the client and patient.
