Fascinating stuff! For 10 years the Rosetta spacecraft flew through millions of miles of space to catch up with comet 67P and then started to orbit it. It was put into hibernation for 10 years and then re-awoken. After carefully orbiting the comet, a small lander called Phillae, about the size of a refrigerator, was ejected off of the probe and onto the surface of the comet that was moving at tens of thousands of miles per hour. All this to discover the stuff from the stars that formed life on our little blue dot about 13.8 billion years ago.
