Fashion, Fun and Frivolity - from the RMSC Albert R. Stone collection. Where they having more fun or does it just appears so? The girls of Washington Junior High School take part in a Fashion Review, modeling the clothes that they have made in class. Among the many pictured: in the front row, two girls in matching shawl-collared ski sweaters hold their skis across their knees. According to the newspaper article, after the fashion show, the audience was dared to pick out, from the dresses, costumes and hats shown, those which had been made by the girls in the school...and those which had been loaned by the department stores for the display...a hat, picked as coming from one of the stores, by a visiting teacher, ...turned out to be the product of the millinery class. Notes Rochester Herald, December 8, 1922. Tidemarks at top of negative. Stone photographic essay, Fashion show and foreigners classes feature school day. The building is on Clifford Avenue. Called Washington School No. 26, 1909-1915; became Junior High, 1915, with addition in 1932; in 1940, taken over by Edison Tech and used until Edison Tech opened its new building on Colfax Street in 1979.
