Fast paced weekend starting with a run down Stinking Creek, Duff - TopicsExpress

Fast paced weekend starting with a run down Stinking Creek, Duff and into LaFollette talking with Highway 25 Yard Sale sellers along the way Friday. Then met lots of voters at a Headquarters grand opening rally for a candidate in another race. Lots of t-shirts and signs left the back of my car as folks and candidates were welcomed with open arms. Saturday started bright and early working the Central and Tennessee Ave red light in downtown LaFollette collecting money for Senior Citizens Home Assistance Service, a great cause that raised over $1200! Also visited with organizers and pet owners at Paws in the Park rally. My platform is the only one that includes deliberate programming for animal welfare, so it was a very good visit and discussion. Celeste Sharp continues to drive downtown to new heights with the Saturday Farmers Market in Freeman Park and Nick and Ann Thompson hit an antiquing home run throughout the weekend just across the street. I enjoyed visiting with all of them and their customers. Arnie MerryDeath was Keeping LaFollette Wierd according to his t-shirt but his wares were flying off the shelf too. Ralphs kept the donuts and coffee flowing and Sherman and Deb at Ace Hardware kept fundraisers in collection buckets while they sold a bunch of gardening and outdoor recreation supplies to folks enjoying the warm weather. All this followed a blessed Wednesday night service at Little Cove Creek Baptist where a young man claimed his eternal salvation, peace and joy. The week also ended in blessings as my Mother in Law returning to church for the first time since my Father in law passed away in April. Certainly saddened with the loss of Mr. Ed Balloff and join you in prayers for his family. As Ed would tell you, it is a joy to see people thriving (even in a tough economy) and know that (1) Gods grace is sufficient and (2) the work weve been given to do for the past several years has played a part in making lives better. There is so much more to do and it is our time to do it together! Next campaign stop- Elk Valley VFW tomorrow night to campaign with some Veteran Heroes. Have a great night and remember: ELect E.L.!
