Fasted cardio. It does not involve extreme dieting. Rather, it entails exercising prior to breakfast. About 11 years ago I began running 3 mornings per week, on the days I did not lift weights. Shortly after, I switched my weight training to early morning, too. Initially, I cringed at the thought of rolling out of bed and exercising almost immediately. These days, I could never return to evening exercise. Doing it in the mornings (exercise, that is) encourages the body use its own fat for energy. Furthermore, I find it makes my metabolism work more efficiently throughout the day. If youre looking for a change in your routine, give fasting exercise a try. One more tidbit of advice..... You may wish to drink your coffee prior to your workout. I do.
