Fat Pizza and Houso - reviews.. Dont forget Tickets on sale for Opening Night with a visit from Paul Fenech . FatPizza Vs. Housos is a treat for fans of the series, with plenty of cameos and familiar faces returning to join in on the madness. FILMINK Review: Fat Pizza Vs. Housos Drawing on almost 15 years of the infamous Pizza television series and its related spinoffs, Fat Pizza Ws. Housos is a delivery of the supreme slice of writer/actor/director/head chef Paul Fenech’s bizarre comedic servings. So far, anyway…by Byron Struck | November 13, 2014 Recently released from prison, pizza chef Bobo Gigliotti (Johnny Boxer) and his domineering Mama (Maria Venuti) set up a new Fat Pizza shop in the fictional suburb of Sunnyvale. Things heat up when the Housos crew take exception to the Fat Pizza mob and an allout war ensues. Throw in bikers, multiple ethnic gangs, junkies and drug dealers and you get the pandemonium that made Fat Pizza notorious. In a half and half mashup, Fat Pizza vs. Housos really is what it says on the box. We get the familiar characters of both series colliding in Sunnyvale alongside the usual targets of authority such as the police, government, council, health and safety officials and of course, Centerlink (not a typo). The characters are certainly the strength of the film, particularly Shazza (Elle Dawe) who ferociously spits venom at anyone who crosses her or her family. Shot and edited at a breakneck pace that counters the insanity on screen, the film takes on nearly every Australian stereotype you can think of and accentuates them to near hyper levels. No part of society is safe from parody as Fenech (in multiple roles) and his crew of misfits wreak havoc wherever they go. It’s exploitative, outrageous, surreal and very funny, but at times the jokes and situations can wear thin, especially for anyone who’s familiar with the humour from the various television series. But if you’re a fan who’s kept up with the gang over the years you’ll know exactly what to expect and that’s pretty much exactly what you’ll get. Definitely a film to be taken with a grain (or maybe a bucket) of chicken salt, FatPizza Vs. Housos is a treat for fans of the series, with plenty of cameos and familiar faces returning to join in on the madness. https://youtube/watch?v=gmw2tL1f9Rw&feature=youtu.be
