Fatemah Dashti, who will be in Year 11 next term, has been in touch to keep us up to date on her exciting summer activities. Fatemah participated in a two-week summer programme called London International Youth Science Forum (LIYSF) which was based at Imperial College London. Founded in 1959, LIYSF aims to give a deeper insight into science and its applications for the benefit of all mankind and to develop a greater understanding between young people of all nations. The participants enjoyed lectures from doctors and professors from all around the world. Fatemah represented Kuwait, presenting the scientific research which together with her twin brother Hussain was first placed in its category and second placed overall in this years Kuwait Science and Engineering Competition. The summer programme also involved visits to the University of Oxford, Cambridge University and the University of East Anglia, among others. All that, and a lot of fun besides, if this video is any indication! youtube/watch?v=SBWsOZlRK2A Thanks Fatemah!
