Fathers Day 2013 - a fun memory I can say with complete certainty - TopicsExpress

Fathers Day 2013 - a fun memory I can say with complete certainty that I was my father’s favorite daughter. I know this is fact, not fiction or wishful thinking, for two reasons. 1) He would often remind me that I was, and introduce me as, his favorite daughter. 2) I was his only daughter! As such, when not calling me Sis, I was called Princess. I was his princess throughout school and college. I was his princess when he taught me to drive and took me for my driving test (which I passed first time). I was his princess as he spoke sternly to my high school dates, admonishing them to take good care of me and to be respectful. I was his princess through thick and thin. When Jim’s daughter Jennifer was born, Dad had a dilemma. This beautiful, engaging child was definitely princess material, but what to do about Diana. His solution? To anoint his only and favorite granddaughter as his princess and promote his only and favorite daughter, age 22, to queen. From that point forward, when not calling me Sis, he called me ‘Queenie’ or ‘the queen.’ Problem solved. Even at 60 years old, that still makes me smile with love and appreciation. Thank you Dad. Love you yesterday, today and always. (pictures of Dad in the newly added album with his princess Jenn)
