Fathers Day ARTcrawl on Friday, June 13th, 2014 from 5-8pm. On Craven Street, in the Isaac Taylor Garden, enjoy live music with Bio Digital Jazz, a seven-piece ensemble Band. Ben Alden Watford will be demonstrating throwing clay upon the pottery wheel. James Herring, Susan Spirko, Wade Dunn will be painting. Elisa Schulman, Sue Lawrence and Alice Bilello will design jewelry. Authors Karen Dodd and Heather Cobham will sign books. Larry Turner will be promoting the Summer Jazz Festival. The Childrens Mime Troupe called Glory 2 Glory will perform. Plus see more artisans demos and works of art by Lynn Goodwin, Gwen Lovitt, Ed Vople, Billy Wingard, Alyssa Buller, Chris Buttitta, Robin Gockley, Susan Jones, Curtis Blake, Gwen McDaniel, Jon Derby, Keiko Sapp, Dara Merrell Morgan. Carol Jones and Lisa Bisbee Lentz will demonstrating oil painting techniques in the Greater Good Gallery inside the Isaac Taylor Building. The first of CAWs Co-op programs called The Gallery on Craven will showcase new works by Bernice Abraham, Jay Manning, Becky Preece, Brandy Baxter, Sarah Thrasher and Kevin Strickland. See the award-winning artwork by Richard Hamilton at Betsy Drake Interiors. Mitchell Hardware features prints of its interior painted by Lee Hood. See the folk artworks of Tessie Adams at Trent River Coffee Co. Top Shelf Consignments & Boutique features new works by Kathleen Bailey, Cats Eye Natural mineral jewelry, Cindy Hamiltons hand-made metal jewelry, sea glass jewelry by Kim Nelson, and photography by Lynn Barron Goodwin. Ballantyne Framing & Art will host native New Bernian Artist, Gerry King, who will be promoting his new book The Paper Route. See new works by Chris Wagner and Ed Macomber at Studio Four Thirteen on Broad Street. Off South Front Street, The Next Chapter will be displaying the work of watercolorist, Mimi Dixons paintings depicting impressionistic and representational abstracts. On the 100 block of Middle Street, stop by to see award-winning artist Marvin Maunes watercolors. On the 200 block of Middle Street, visit with bohemian artists of New Bern in the BTM Garden with Braedon Welsh, Meg Wethington, Heather Main, Chris Wagner, Samrae Duke, Martin Henry, Amber Ayala and Elisa Maple. The Cogs and Wheels project of stories will be embellished with the publics participation. The performance of live music is by Jesse Iaquinto and The Fireside Collective from Asheville, NC. See the new silhouette paintings of simple human form by Serah Cheatham at MJs Raw Bar. Artist Becky Coleman will be onsite at Midtown Olive Oil. Blaine Kruger will be painting on charts at the Boathouse. See limited edition civil war prints at Framing Fox. CAWs second Co-op program unleashes at The Antiquery Boutiquery Art Gallery with a reception of new works on the walls by Jerry Scott, Rachel Wheeler, Susan Spirko and Robin Gockley. The 300 block of Middle Street, attend Beth Gosnells opening reception at Cheshire Moon! On Pollock Street, Fine Art at Baxters Gallery presents “Eastern Coastal Views” a body of works by landscape painters, Barbara Hesketh, Nancy Noel May, Jane Faudree, and Karen Crenshaw. Upstairs at Baxters, artisans will be working in their studios including Sandy Bruno, GeeVee Meyer and Jill Eberle. At Carolina Creations Art Gallery, featured artist Robert Rigsby of Goldsboro, exhibits Good Things Come in Small Frames. Robert Daniels’s artwork exhibit and Wine Tasting starts at 5pm in the Galley Store. Starting at 7pm, enjoy live entertainment with Fools Rush In Jazz Musicians at Rivertowne Ballroom. The Marvelous Wonderettes Caps and Gowns performance starts at 8pm in the Masonic Theatre.
