Favinia La Muciara is the first wine Firriato has produced on the island of Favignana; the company decided to plant vines there again after an absence of a century. The Di Gaetano family introduced the autochthonous Perricone, Nero d’Avola, Grillo, Zibibbo and Catarratto varieties in an area covering five hectares, using extreme viticulture practices thanks to the complex soil and climate conditions that make the island so unique and appealing. The vicinity to the sea, the protective and mild Foehn wind and natural fertilisation from the Neptune Grass are just some of the factors that have contributed to the high quality of wines from the Favinia range, limited and niche productions capable of giving wine lovers an authentic taste of Sicily, the pearl of the Mediterranean. Classification: IGP Sicilia Grape variety: Grillo, Catarratto and Zibibbo Vineyard location: Island of Favignana – Calamoni Estate Soil composition: of calcarenitic origin
