Me: Funny you asked ‘cause I’m planning to get married even though I was applying for a work based Green Card after being here on a visa for 9 years and now I don’t need to do that. A: DUDE! Congratulations, that’s so cool. Me: Yeah and we started the adoption process and will hopefully be ready for placement mid September. A: Wow, you’re getting married, getting your green card and adopting a baby all at the same time? Me: Yup, we’ve waited a long time to be able to do all of this. A: Are you sure you’re ready? Me: After 6 years together, yeah, I’d say we’re ready. A: Well best of luck with everything. Me: Thank you! Not once did I have to say….”Oh and by the way, I’m gay!” That my friends, is true equality.
