Favorite movies so far this year: We Are The Best - a group of Swedish 13-year-old girls form a punk band. Whiplash - A jazz drummer is put through hell from his conductor/mentor. Gone Girl - Smart, smart, smart psychological thriller directed by David Fincher. Jodorowskys DUNE - about Alejandro Jodorowsky and his attempt to make Dune into a film before David Lynch did. Inspiring stuff. Calvary - In confession a Priest is told some startling news and has a week to deal with it. A great character study that sinks into your bones.
