Favorite ship I served on... The USS Fox (CG-33), named after the Secretary of the Navy during the Civil War, Gustavus Vasus Fox. I was her first ever Intelligence Specialist as part of the U.S. Navys newly minted program to place one IS on all Destroyers and Guided Missile Cruisers. I put in my application for a commission as a U.S. Naval Officer while I was stationed onboard Fox. All at once, that tour (87-89) made me a Fleet Sailor and a Naval Officer. I received my commission one year later while stationed at SEAL Team ONE, where I was the Team Intelligence Specialist. Feeling all sentimental for Veterans Day Week.
