Fear Of Man Is A Snare From The *devil June 2, 2013 By Cheryl Zelenka 2 Comments “I, even I, am He who comforts you. Who are you that you should be afraidof a man who will die, and of the son of a man who will be made like grass?” Isaiah 51:12-13 (NKJV) Dear One, Unjust claims and accusations are never pleasant and can bring a boatload of trouble to an innocent believer. The *devil would love to destroy your good name and reputation. Do not fear what man can do to you for we serve a just God! He will repay them for the sins they have brought against you. In His perfect time there will be justice. If you are unjustly persecuted for His sake, you have the assurance of His strength and guidance. He will direct you in how you should proceed. “Fear of man is a snare but those who trust in the Lord will be kept safe.”(Proverbs 29:25) When facing adversity, whom first do you call upon for comfort, guidance, and help? Is it God or a friend? Maybe it is your spouse or a family member. Who first SHOULD you call upon? It is always a comfort to speak to someone we can see, feel, and hear. However, God wants us to call out to Him first. He is always supposed to be in front of the line as our leader and counselor. Believers need to get in the habit of seeking Him before man. And if you quiet your heart, you CAN HEAR Him and FEEL His presence about you. God has sent the Holy Spirit to live inside each one of us. The Holy Spirit guides, teaches, and helps us in our times of need. John 14:26 refers to the Holy Spirit as our Comforter and our HELPER. Training our ears to hear His counsel and learning how to be still in our prayer time is vital. How else is God going to instruct and answer our petitions? Patience is a fruit of the Spirit. Waiting for His answers is a discipline we need to acquire if we hope to mature in our Christian walk. We live in a world full of sin and darkness, but there is still light in this world. When darkness tries to attack, call out to God. He is eternal light and hope. He will cover you in the shadow of His wings. He is your protector. There is a reason for the trial you are experiencing. Tests are a part of the refining process. God tested Abraham, David, Joshua, Noah, and Mary. ALL of God’s children will have their faith tested. You stand in good company if you are weathering a storm right now. Don’t let the negative words of others cause you distress, just hold on to the love of Christ. He will see you through your test of faith and restore what the locust have eaten. Your good name will be restored in time. Do not let the fear of man deter you from God’s purpose in your life. The enemy will set snares of fear, but if you toss aside your fear of man… peace will be your constant companion. “He has brought back their wickedness upon themAnd will destroy them in their evil; The Lord our God will destroy them.” Psalm 94:23 (NAS) “But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all things that I said to you.” John 14:26 (NKJV) “However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.” John 16:13 (NKJV) ** “devil” is intentionally not capitalized. I will give him no honor!
